Villa Ferrante is situated just above the village of Londa nestled between the hills and high cypress trees of the "Mugello" and "Sieve Valley".

Among the mountains of the Mugello, a few kilometers away from Florence, you can find traces of a history worthy of a great European capital. Small towns of ancient origin have grown up along the course of the river Sieve. Previously an important Etruscan region, the Sieve Valley and the central Mugello afterwards became the site of colonies and towns in Roman times.

As far as 15 kilometers you can easily reach the following places:

Poppi, which is well-known for its medieval castle and downtown.

Scarperia, famous for handcrafted blades, and for the "Autodromo del Mugello".

Vicchio, Giotto's hometown, where his house has been rearranged as a museum.

Borgo San Lorenzo, with its amazing centre, and the "Tuscany Ceramics Museums".

Rufina, where you can find the Museo of Chianti Wine, located in the Villa di Poggioreale. You can also find useful information about chianti Rufina e Pomino routes.

Arezzo is very near too. In its delightfull inner city, the first Saturday of every month, you can find the famous and well-known Mercato Antiquario.
